A poem by Melissa Perkins

Over the mountains
And high up on the hills,
Nightingale sings
Of true love its heart doth tills.
Nymphs, gods, and faries
With golden speckled wings,
Cupids shoot arrows
Whilst wisdom dost time bring.
Here the sun sings,
And the stars are fireflies
Wind that can speak
And rain petals fall from the sky.
Fish lay pearl eggs
In flooded quarrys of lime,
Dragons root their legs
Into the depth of endless time.

Very good lines and good imagery made it a sweet poem. Also liked the simplicity of the poem. Good one indeed.!

Imagination runs away with this, but it is simply put, well said and a dream that takes you away to a land of enchantment and has me thinking where is she at this moment in time. Time will tell I guess. Good write though.

Pretty as a picture, Melissa. We all need our own world to retreat to, and this one sounds wonderful.
