As I sit here on this island
The waves don't seem to roll my way
The sun seems to set on the other side
But yet is it and wonder about this day
If I shouted, would anyone here my voice
And would the birds fly from the echoes
Would my footprint in the sand even appear?
Thinking to myself, I wonder if this how it goes
They say flattery is nothing to even see
If actions of faith don't follow with gist
A simple touch is just that, a simple touch
And loneliness can leave you down, lost in the mist
Will the moon shine at night, even on this side?
Or will darkness leave me just wandering about
Can I speak your name and you then appear
And your name even fall from the depths of my mouth
On this island, I thought I saw your eyes
Piercing through the clouds as the moon was held back
I folded my hands, laid my head in them
Hoping they would reappear and show me where you're at
With a body of water around me on all sides
I asked if you can hear the heart of this man
As I stand looking out in the far off distant
Hoping you can rescue this man from Loneliness Island
