Stark and strong imagery, but somehow this poem leaves me with the feeling it is a little too rational, not quite emotionally grounded.
Maybe it's just me.

|Nice work, Mary. The difference I see with respect to the past and now is that now there are too many of us. What happens when something is in oversupply is that it is cheapened, becomes less precious, less valued. I see signs of that phenomena almost everywhere I look.
