She reminds me of a beautiful Harlem day

The beauty of a woman compared to the beauty of a Harlem day

She reminds me of a beautiful Harlem day

She reminds me
Of a beautiful day in the city
The never-ending harmony
Of Harlem

She reminds me
Of a beautiful spring day
The children at play
The non-stop sounds of each and everyday

She reminds me
Of the view
Of Lexington
155th street and 8th avenue

Reminds me of the smell
Of soul food in the air
Street vendors, basketball
The thought of her takes me back there

She reminds me
Of Jazz
The sweet sounds heard uptown
Bebop, swing and ramatazz

She reminds me
Of a mixture of Coltrane and Dizzy
The Sugga Shack and Cotton Club
Harlem's sweet melody

The brownstones
And subway
About life when it was good
Back in the day

She reminds me
Of the beauty
Of Harlem
Urban artistry

I could not picked
A finer love to be in
Than my baby's love
My Harlem sweetie

The Apollo
And Sylvia's soul food
The poetry venues
Man life was good

And to this day
Harlem is still that way
Just many more memories
To add to the beauty of the city

My Harlem sweetie

Write on my brotha! I hope she seen this. This was good. Nice tribute to Harlem as well as your woman. Keep it up!
