memory of lost friends.
this poem was written for my friend and others who died at school, we were having a rememberance garden built with a special seat with a plaque with all of thier names. This poem was published in the local paper.

Though time moves on since friends are gone,

and days lead into years,

it does us good to stop and think, if only just a while,

to pass the time remembering, a look, a laugh, a smile.

A place to sit, a garden seat, a moment of my time,

a silent thought, a memory caught, as missed friend walk through my mind.

And as i sit and give them time, they live within my thoughts,

laughing, joking, playing in the school where they were taught.

They'll never be forgotten in the payground of our hearts,

for though their lives were cut so short, they all have left their marks.

Imprinted in our memories, and often brings a tear,

of friends we miss and loved so much and still wish they were here.

In memory of Samantha Herbert age 14 (2000)
