On Paul Delvaux's The Village of the Mermaids

Hands crossed subserviently
Their master strolls away
Sharp ice capped mountains
Cold turquoise waters
Close to him
Moving ever further away from
The sea women
With their sea shells blurring
Their visions
One woman left with her scales
The mermaid weighs the stagnant air
The red rooftop in the distance
Feels the trickling blood of her heart
The rest are numb and raw
The life once lying beneath
Has drained down the hill's decline
a well worn path trodden
Time and time again
By the sea
By the man

I like the imagery. There is a dreamy, mystical quality to the composition. Actually, the poem reminds me a little of Amie.

A lovely artistic reflection. May I say that your nom de plume tickles my carnivore's palate?

wonderfully crafted poem, i loved the line "cold turquiose waters" what a great use of the word turquoise to describe the ocean

Yes it is a good tale of tails.
