Hope Through The Grey

The rain use to fall everyday, turning the days dark and grey

creating a cold damp world of despair.

The sky was dark day and night, the world silent and void

it's occupant servant of the rain and cold.

Never did she expect the clouds to part, the sun to shine.

Her life was dictated by the constant showers and cold despair,

when a small cloud shifts, allowing a single sun ray through.

The world stops! Fear and doubt emerge from the unknown.

The silence that has dominated is broken by a hushed whisper

As she huddles under that one beautiful ray, something emerges.

A feeling never known, one that makes another cloud to part,

it grows, the rain stops. The sky is splattered with crystal blue.

A blue so perfect, it robs the mouth of words

bringing the eyes to tears, the soul to peace.

The glory of the sun streams down shading light to unseen colors

no longer is the gray dominating. Greens, Yellows, Reds, Oranges

invigorate the senses.

Through that one ray the world has changed, life altered

she now sees colors, vibrant colors, hope has been born.

With hope the rain may fall, but knowledge of life's radiant beauty

allows for laughter, joy and utter happiness to hold strong pushing the rain away.
