Healing From Within
As I heat up my pen to tell the truth and not pretend
There’s a boiling stirring up as your mind you offer to lend
These words will be sold, that’s reality not arrogance or being bold
It’s temperature rising heat of hidden things now revealed
Though your body sweats from the created humidity that could make you ill
Your mind, for a moment may stand still from the exposing chill
The mirror proposes an image in the space that it fills
The real you reflects there, unless you choose to conceal
If so that’s your appeal, maintaining a false identity with vigor and overwhelming zeal
Insecurities masked, closed in, suppressed and sealed
Your success is measured by you on how much you conquer and steal
On your way up the ladder of sought out prominence
You want it in your control, to be super-imposed, with unparalleled dominance
That’s the turbulent calm most are up against, straddling the reality and fantasy fence
Actions stay intense, greedily to gain and attain, stopping at nothing to convince
Little time to relax, your mind and body are taxed, always tense
You have the appearance of deep importance, but you’re shallow and dense
Being true to your self is within reach, so let the healing commence
Put down the blockade mechanism you built, always on the defense
A little exposure will lead to closure, as pain becomes past tense
As you relent you become content seeking forgiveness for your transgressions you repent
God forgives and saves you right before you’re completely contorted and inflexibly bent
Now time is well spent in joy and achievement of great splendor
It’s really you in all you do, no longer the great pretender
If you start with the infamous mirror that’s where it all begins
The process is slow but you’ll determine to grow, as you’re Healing From Within
