Choka 1009
Fifty-Nine
Now, all is quiet
And yet, not…the house whispers
As all houses do…
Little, unique noises.
The ceiling fan spins
The air, rich with the fragrance
Of savory goulash…
There is a smile on my face
A mischievous one
Knowing the smells of cooking
Will enter the dreams
Of my sleeping wife and son.
A new year for me…
I am fifty-nine today
Contemplating more mischief.
