my troubled head,
full of lyrics
and words,
sees shades of you in
your empty room.
touching walls
to feel
the parts of you
left behind-
but such great leagues
stretch us apart.
i can only hope to grasp
images of you
through wires
that connect
behind a screen.
and from so far away
you look even more wonderful.
come back
my darling-
the heights don't scare me.
i'm ready to jump.
when you come back down
you can take my heart
and lock it inside yours.
i step from the room
to find every song
is about you
