searching through my clouded mind

 of superficial hate

conscious thoughts are hard to find

 beyond a man made fate

 governed by a social class

 higher than our own

 we are all seeking ways

 through herded mass

in steps that they have shown

blinded by the greed in all

of those who make us dare

 to twist our naked happiness

 into what is there

those who choose to follow them

 controllable by greed

 they take the souls

 of a weakened crowd

and on their  hopes they feed

knowing some will set a way

 and leave  their lifelong chain

 of scattered thoughts

 that aren't their own

 and predeveloped pain

but pain can't take away from us

the thoughts that make us men

 and left alone

 with minds of our own

 we can cure our sin.
