I THANK YOU
I thank You for the ray of light when I awake which shines through the torn patch in my curtain,
I thank You for the sound of the kitten’s paws that milk an instinctive teet on my pillow next to my head,
I thank You for the warmth of his sleeping breath against my ear and his arm sprawled across my waist,
I thank You for the music from the radio clock which gently urges me to rise and
I thank You for giving me the ability to stretch as I do, so that my entire body opens up like a vessel allowing Your energy to enter,
I thank You for letting me see not only that which is visible but that which is not,
I thank You for the trees outside my window whose shaded protection is exceeded only by its generosity to the Weaver and its eggs,
I thank You for this roof above my head which connects my windowed walls and
Thank You for the windows themselves,
I thank you for the children’s voices on the pavement below as they march in line like skittles between their teachers,
I thank You for the warm days in winter when the wind is still and the sun is soft against my face,
I thank You for the friendships that are solid as stone, deep as the sea, resilient like the waves and eternal as the tide.
