(When your feeling as useless as a back pocket in a pair of undies, wondering if your doing enough to justify your own existence, and wondering if it is all worth it. When you pride yourself on your great achievements, are secure in the comfort of all that you have, and all that you have become. When you wonder what you must do to earn God's love, and if you've done it. Then go to the forest and listen to the trees, to the lesson they teach - a lesson in wood! )

Does a tree ever wonder
Why it struggles to live?
What does it receive
For all that it gives?

And yet it does nothing
For all it receives.
And should it fall in the forest
Who cares, who grieves?

Though mighty and vast
It is by insects consumed.
Though enduring and strong
By an axe it is pruned.

For centuries it can stand,
Yet die in a day.
So much it has seen,
Yet nought can it say.

Still the Lord takes great care
To give it all that it needs,
And it gives its all
For the sake of its seeds.

And the tree seems content
To live as it should.
There is much flesh and blood
Could learn from such wood.
