The First Time I Saw You
The first time I saw you
I knew I wanted nothing but you
I was so nervous to talk to you
I built up some courage and attempted the impossible
I’m glad I did, because without you I’m nothing
The way you make me laugh,
The way you make me feel,
The way you hold me,
Your hugs and you kisses,
You make me feel like I’m good for something.
You’re my little piece of heaven
And you’re always in my heart
I think of you nonstop, never leaving me for a minute
To me you’re beautiful and perfect
I’m not a perfect person
And I never mean to hurt you
I know all the pain I put you through
If I could take your pain away
Or even suffer for you I would
When we aren’t together
You’re always in my heart
Even though we’re so far apart
I’ll do whatever it takes to make this last
I know there are a million reasons for you to go
But if you stay, I do whatever it takes to make this work
I want to start a family with you
I want to make sure you safe
I want everything to be right
I can’t see myself with anyone else
Every moment in your life come down to what you hold inside
And inside of me I hold nothing but you
Many nights I lay awake, holding to the thought of you
As long as I’m with you, I’ll be fine
You know I would die here without you
And I’m thinking that all that still matter is our love ever after
No there’s no life after you
You aren’t alone tonight
Just image me by you side,
Read this letter over and over
You’re that one thing that keeps me alive
Now here comes the sad part
And even though I’m in the army
You know why I’m doing this?
I want to make you proud of me
Did I do something wrong
Did I make you angry
I don’t want you to miss me because I’ll be back
I don’t want you to worry because I’ll be safe
I need you to support me, to be behind me
I’m going to miss you
I need you to tell me that you’ll be waiting for me
I’m doing all of this for you
I want to come home to your smiling face
But if I don’t
I need to know that you love you
And that you’ll miss me
I do my job
I don’t ask for much
Some people hate me
But I don’t complain
All I want you to say is
“I’m proud of you”
I don’t want your memories of me to fade
Carry them close to your heart
and always know I’m with you
But if I do come home
I want you to remember what I did
And I will know how lucky and grateful I am to have you in my life
I love you
I missed you
But there will be no one else since I found you
And I know this puts much on you
But you make me feel so important
You’re my everything, now I’ve said all I can say
