You Into Me . . .

What thanks scented the acrid air,

Hanging ‘round after not floating

Up the flue, in the hours before

The embers energy died off --

Smoldering and snuffed out.

Yeah! Two things I know best.

Losing the scent, flipping through

On Demand. As if I could

Bring you on, with mindless inferiority.

Good god, how many channels

Does it take, to escape reality?

You are still here, voraciously,

Embedding YOU into me.

Powerful decription describing the pangs of obsession, the process by which the over-ride button sweeps away all other thoughts besides the ONE. There is no white-knuckle escape, it seems, which has any lasting value other than "temporary." It runs deeper than that. One has to really drill down to get to the core of it. Great poem.
