Misery

I hear you asking to come in friend

but dear friend, can’t you see

my company’s already here

and her name is misery

she’s a greedy old bitch, wants me all to herself

says all my relationships should be put on a shelf

so it’s just her and I

and only the mirrors can see me cry

she doesn’t want to be heard, doesn’t want to be seen

but she’s not really shy, she’s actually mean

and she’s also vain and a little insane

keeping me close to her… mocking my pain

they say misery loves company

but that’s not the case here

she’s a jealous old bitch, my misery

wants everyone else to disappear

as long as she lives in my heart

very few are welcomed near

A creative personification of an emotion. Let's just hope it isn't true because it speaks of torment and loneliness.
