No one really has the guts to say it, but if we could make better human beings by knowing how to add genes, why shouldn’t we? —-- James Watson, Co-disc..

I don't pretend to be much of a philosopher....It's just a feeling I get, ya know? Kinda like the way I felt during the baseball playoffs. I don't know hoot about baseball, but something was telling me that the Red Sox were in trouble when the manager left the pitcher in after the 8th. And I'm thinking, "If I could figure that out, why couldn't he?".....go figure

A Message

Come fight, the loyal soldier,

With being strong and sure,

Pray know that God is with you,

Come slay the evildoer!

Come fight the holy warrior,

Your soul will shine with God,

Lay bear your sins to Allah,

Come write the last Jihad.

Defend us, loyal soldier,

Your colors will win through,

Your country stands behind you,

Your destiny is true .

But the holy warrior listens

To a different battle plan,

His country is his bible,

His destiny, Koran.

He listens to the rumbles,

Dissent from distant shores,

It strengthens his resolve against

The “infidels and whores”.

The message here is simple,

All wars bring death and fear,

Every life is precious,

Every life is dear.

Still, if the holy warrior

Sees weakness in our stand,

May God have mercy on us,

When he comes to take our land.

You see, to question is our heritage,

And diverseness is our right,

Ironic how we lose these gifts,

If we give up the fight.

And if you think we were unjust,

Our policies unfair,

Think what your life would be like,

If you lived over there?

Jim, very well written poem. As far as the Red Sox. I've been a fan for 50 years and they always find a new way to disappoint. Guess I'm a glutton for punishment. I hope to never see the day when the battles are fought on our turf.

Wow! Nothing else needs to be said, Jim. Wow! How truthful and very thought-provoking.
Great work, as always. I am convinced you could not write a bad poem if you were required to do so.
Take care.
Jill :)
