(i.)
O raise my mind now
To some exalted height.
For here you are,
Deeper than the night,
Where dreams are born.
Where kisses fall far
From the mouth of the moon
& I tremble at your sight.
Weak in human frailty found,
Where unfettered heart should bound.
& even though a gentle breeze blows,
Still it chills to the marrow,
To fill me with a sudden dread
Before the moon turns red.
(ii.)
The moon appears to me, coincidently.
I appear to the moon, timelessly.
Yet the beast lurks hidden on the hill
Amidst bushes that move & bushes still.
Between her nakedness concealed,
(As a knot ravelled & unravelled
Before a shooting star traveled).
Between my nakedness revealed,
That fragments to a pattern human
In the space of night's dissemination.
Shall I be content, of she who knows
all faces of the moon & all she steals,
Who mocks the beast's clouted nose,
That she to my nakedness, appeals !?
