I wandered
Taking rest beside an arresting tree
It was a tree of extravagance
Towering before me and before the Heavens

And I stared;
Realizing it was beautiful
It was a tree of all things pure
Appearing to tower before the Heavens

And I stared; until my eyes could suffer no more

And I mourned;
Lamenting how I could no longer see
To gaze at that tree
Appearing to tower before the Heavens
And I mourned; until I heard the faintest of sounds

And I listened;
Realizing I heard a voice, melodic and lulling
A song sung by the tree
Sounding like the angels in the Heavens
And I listened, until my ears could suffer no more

And I mourned;
As I could no longer hear the singing
Of that paragon among voices
Sounding like the angels in the Heavens
And I mourned; until I felt the pulsing Earth

And I crawled;
Whereupon the ground grew warm and pacifying
It was the tree, I felt inside
Beating like the heart of the Heavens
And I crawled, until my hands could suffer no more
And I crawled, until my knees could suffer no more

Whereupon I fell..
Which I then rested; as to dream
Which I then awakened, as to scream

And I stared;
For my senses were alive, and
Brought to life the horrors of the tree
No longer towering before the Heavens
And I stared; until the tree stared back

And I screamed!
At the contorted and wicked tree
It was a dark, ominous thing
No longer towering before the Heavens
And I screamed; until the tree screamed back!
