GOODBYE
I feel the first tremors
Of an earthquake, deep in my chest.
As they grow, shaking uncontrollably,
Cracks begin to appear in the armor plate
Encasing my heart.
And from the cracks.
Rivulets of pain begin to flow.
The rivulets become streams,
That become rivers,
That become a mighty torrent
Of emotions, all intermixed;
Carrying me away.
Pain, joy, grief
Anger, tenderness, fear, compassion:
All the many colors of love.
And in that glorious flow,
My heart cries out, in joyful sadness:
Thank You!
I Love YOU!
Goodbye!
