500 Years before that Italian fraud
The dragonhead of single masted longboats
Lead the Norsemen to American shores
From the bitter cold of Greenland
To the plush pastures of Vineland
They came

They did not come for slaves
They did not come for riches
They committed no genocide
They did not murder in the name of God
They came to find a better life

So each year when the 12th of October
Comes near
And the banks all take a day off
Remember Columbus Day is just for them
And Leif Eriksson Day is for the rest of us

October, 9th is Leif Eriksson Day
