Inspired by a post authored by useram053.

A rare beauty
Makes a man move slow
Shuts him down
Trapped by fear and awe

You graced my sallow fields
And I long for you
To lie again
Peaceful after our storm

Transformed by your presence
Lightened with your heaviness
Playful then serious
Then playful again

I do not like the southern snow
It's days are too few
And remind me of that woman
Who left me in the Spring

John,

I never review just because you did- but that last verse is a poem by itself, maybe the whole poem by itself. So good I might steal it and enter into a competition!

OK. OK. I'll add more. . .

I like the flow and the depth and the feeling in this poem. A poet is born!
