Everything Happens For a Reason

© 2006 Tyrone V. Banks

As I respond to a call from the Holy Spirit several things are happening in my life.

The way that I handle stress, success or defeat has changed.

For now I know that everything happens for a reason.

When I stumble and fall; I laugh and stand as opposed to cursing and staying down.

If we knew not how to fall then how will we know how to stand?

If I lose something and it’s nowhere to be found I just call on the Holy Spirit to assist me

and I continue to search until it is found.

If we knew not how to search then how would we ever find?

If we knew not how to ask then how will we ever receive?

When I try to attain a goal; there are going to be setbacks, delays and sometimes a small measure of failure.

Without these things how would we learn how to persevere and succeed?

If we know not the bitter taste of failure then how then could we recognize the delicious taste of victory?

When I get angry and those ugly words travel to my mouth I am angry that I almost allowed myself to do something that I promised myself that I wouldn’t do again.

But, without this struggle to hold back those words how would we learn about restraint?

When someone offers me an alcoholic drink I draw stares as I now refuse to give in to wine and some ask why.

But without someone asking me why; when would I have a chance to proclaim my love for GOD and His Holy Word?

GOD has a plan for everyone, we may fall on, stumble upon, get pushed from and fall off the path sometimes but through it all we still travel the path of our destiny.

Nevertheless I am continually with You; You hold me by my right hand.
You will guide me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.

(Psalms 73; 23-24, NKJV)

I have always believed that everything happens for a reason. Is that what directed me to this site?

A beautiful testimony on the unfoldment of a powerful journey into expanded awareness of the nature and implications of God's presence in one's life. Thank you for sharing.
