let me share with you
something beautiful.
i will put it from my mind
for many years,
until i recall,
quick as a whisper
the dunes and sand,
the wild grass,
the setting sun.
i'll keep my distance,
privately,
knowing why i will not harm you
as you're different from the rest.
i'll resign myself to bitter/sweet goodbyes
understanding it was not MY time.
but now it's yours,
you've kept that space
within your heart
and kept the image bright,
reflected back in another's
eyes, the promise of a life-
proposed on jagged rocks
half pounded down by a
violent dance of the sea
yet soothed and caudled
by the gentle lapping,
marry me.

Love this poem girl! The last lines... "...the gentle lapping, marry me." perfect. If you were here, I'd hug you, and jump up and down like and idiot!
