Sometimes it's better to forgive and let it go... |
|
He drew the drapes shut,
Tightly,
Quickly,
No, abruptly,
Empty Darkness
Arrived on time
And sat down
Spreading itself
Throughout the room;
If only
Forgiveness could be
So tight,
So quick,
So abrupt,
Spread itself so thickly,
Then,
I wouldn't lay here
So isolated,
So alone,
Sleeping by his side
In the Dark.

Fine poem. It's always best to forgive and let the onus be on the other, hoping you'll find empathy in their hearts eventually. At least you will have done the right thing.Unforgiveness is a slow spreading cancer.

When a person is haunted by things they can't seem to let go of, it not only disrupts their lives, but all that care about them as well. Hopefully somewhere in that darkness, will be that one glimmer of light that manages to catch his sight.
Sad but strong write.
