On Joining a Writers' Group

Any idea where I can get a boat ride?
Sure. Come with me.
Where we going?
To the sea. I helped build this boat.
Big place, this sea of yours.
Not mine. I just ride in it once in awhile. . . Here we are.

Hi people. I have this friend who wants a boat ride. Take care of him.

Hi.. I’d like a ride.
Hi. We’re not in the ride business.
But. I thought…
Nope. We only give swimming lessons. Can you swim?
Tried once. I can make it across a swimming pool.
What about sea-swimming?
Never tried that.
That’s what we do. Wanna learn?
Maybe. I can walk and run, even downhill ski.
Won’t help.

Time to go out to sea. All aboard.
Can I come?
Thought you wanted to ride.
Been thinking about it. I need to learn swimming.
OK. Get on board.
Where we going?
Out to sea.
How far?
Till it gets deep.
By the way, what do you call your boat?
“Three Blind Mice.”
Why the funny name?
“’Cause we like to cut off tales!”

Here we are. Time to learn how to swim.
What do I do?
Jump in.
You’re kidding.
This guy’s scared, everybody.
I’m not scared.
Then jump in.
But its so deep.
Thought you wanted to learn how to swim.

Oh, gee. Wow! Yikes! It’s cold out here.
Swim!
How?
With your arms and legs, dummy.
I’m sinking.
Swim!
I’m sinking.
Tough.
How about a life preserver.
Now you’re the one kidding.
At least give me some instructions.
Swim!
Hey! Hey! Where you going?
Back home.
But what about me?
Swim!
I can’t. I’m cold. The water’s too deep.
Tough.
I’m sinking.
See you on shore.
Help!
We did.
What do you mean?
We got you out here. Now swim!
