The Hardest Thing

This is the hardest thing

for me to do,

It’s weird because I owe

everything to you.

You taught me so much

about this one thing.

You taught me how to let

my heart sing.

You were there to guide me,

you made it easier for me

to see,

You helped me understand.

You helped me overstand.

This is the hardest thing

When I was ready to give up,

you pushed me to keep the faith,

& soul with every breath
