Lies

This poem just came to me. The words just flowed as I wrote.

A meadow covered in a blanket of glistening snow,

Underneath the pale midnight moon

The night goes on,

And I slowly fade away

These lungs are void of air,

From screaming your name

But tonight the crows will take my place,

For you have left me breathless once again

Deep blue eyes coated with a film of deceit,

Simple white lies turned into the blackest of plagues

Even medicine can slip behind that melancholy smile,

For your finally getting a dose of reality

Sweet words creep off your lips,

But the truth of them is bitter

There is no cure for a liar,

But doctor death may save you soon.

These words resound with the ache of having been 'had.' Worse pain than a toothache, which ends rather soon from unbearableness and certain conclusive remedy obtained. Not like anything emotional, which haunts for decades or a lifetime. Your poem affects me like a pool of water I am about to step into, seeing the bottom so clearly and being ready to stand, only to find it over my head and the shock and panic of that discovery. ~~ Diana

Good. The beginning threw me for a small moment, but, as Jude as said, the rest of the poem progressed wonderfully from the beginning.
