A reply to Dear John.

Hello Babe,

Can I still say that now you're gone ?

How's the weather blowin my parade is soaked and shivering,

The band are stomping struggling but there's no f***er listening,

Beating out of time my heart can't take rejection,

Dear John sliced me open now I have no true direction,

I had some aspirations high hopes for life now taken,

If I begged you'd pity and I'd take that in the short term,

If I roared you'd listen but eventually you'd deafen,

How to play the game ?

My friend said I should soften,

But growing up here's hard the bottom rung is sharp,

If I dopped my guard for love then I'd get torn apart,

You see the real me's been scared of taking chance,

Glide down your marble staircase,

I'll climb the splintered wooden steps,

Meet me in the middle,

Give me love's embrace.

I HAVE TO AGREE WITH RONALD...'SETTLEING' NEVER WORKS. I KNOW IT IS HARD TO DO, BUT YOU'VE GOT TO PRESS ON AND LET A 'NEW' LIGHT FLOW INTO YOUR LIFE. WHY? BECAUSE...YOU ARE WORTH IT! THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATING

I sure hope this is writers risk. A poem about a path too often taken. Otherwise it's just a hopeless case.
