For Merrill "Butch" Vaughan the man who took my dreams away with telling me he found another who was better, prettier, smarter and more interesting to talk to...

Whos gonna call me angel?
Whos gonna call me my love?
Whos gonna tell me they love me?
Whos gonna write me poetry to show me
their love?
Whos gonna send me roses just because they care?
Not the one with the special way he did.
Never in my life had I thought someone really did care.
Through all the abuse I've endured in my life, loosing you is the worse scar I will have to bear.
Friends laughed at me when I told them you was in a chair, but I didn't care.
Now they will laigh at me because I couldn't keep a man in chair.
I can hear the whispers now.
There's the one who couldn't keep a man in a chair. What good is she if she can't keep a man in a chair.
So no self esteem I will have to endure.
I know I'm not pretty
I know I'm not smart
I know I'm not articulate
But so what who really cares.
I know theres something good in me or you would have never captured my heart.
We met on a cold winter's night
Which warmed my soul indeed.
You left me for another on a Hot August Day.
Which left my soul so cold.
The book of love is now closed in my heart.
Never to allow love or care to enter cause of your and her faults.
My soul to show the damaged that you applied to my life.
Guess I have lost for the last time
My chance for true love.
Whos gonna call me angel?
Whos gonna call me my love?
Not the man that I true ly do love.

I tried to send this as a message, but it wouldn't work, sorry...

After reading your poems which are such a cry of the heart, I hesitate to ‘review’ them for fear of pressing too hard on something that hurts… But I must guess that you want and need our comments, to have shared them with us…

How can we love someone else it we first do not know how to love ourselves? We cannot give out of an empty cup. If we do not know how, then we must learn, not just for our own sakes, but for the sake of everyone whose lives we touch. It helps to learn from someone else who has learned to do it well.

This kind of wound behaves so much like a physical one. It will take time to heal and at the beginning is very intense. But what if it is a more serious injury? Can we get by on our own? What if we have worried it and the infection of self-pity has made us feverish with delirium and confusion? It would be foolish to ignore it – resulting in some serious debilitation, no, instead we go to a professional who is qualified to help us and who has much experience in treating this kind of injury. Only you know how bad this pain and wound is… Will a bandaid, (such as writing about it until we can get it out of our system) be enough because it is on the surface? Or is it deep and in need of some serious and urgent attention?

Teresa, keep writing. There are times and seasons for everything and this will pass. You cannot make his choices for him but you can make the right choices for you and you will grow stronger.

Soldier on...
With heartfelt empathy
