I'm about to disappear
But I have to wonder
If you'll even notice I'm gone.
You're already phasing me out
So let me move the process along.

There's no hate or tears
Just awareness of an end.
So I dim the lights and shut the door
And head for the other side.

I bring nothing with me
That was born of us.
It would never survive.

If I grieve it is not for you or me,
But for a time that can't be reached.

I hope you never feel the need to try.

sad wistful and beautiful. There's something about an ending that makes one cry --- and with your words, you have accomplished that. Beautifully done sadness, my friend.
