Water Cycle
Watch your wishes
Watch as they gather like seemingly individual snowflakes
And create a uniform landscape
Fields of colorless pale desire
Every footprint sinking in
Every thrown stone puncturing
Every stick protruding through

Cling to the branches of nature
And coat the tops of the pools
Erasing existence
Denying involvement
Hiding evidence

Till the sun of society
Bright and smiling
Melts your ambition
And sends you sprawling into the ground
Falling down mountainsides
Collecting with others like you
Conforming with the non-conformists

Moving in uniform waves
Racing for a forgotten beach
But running back home just as quick
Till the tears are no more
And you shrink inch by inch

All that is left are cracks in the sand
Scattered signs that you once existed
You thought yourself unique
You became like the rest
Wanting to change the world
And leave as nothing more than a ditch
For others to flow into
An example to admire
A legacy no one remembers
A life not lived
A death symbolic
Floating above with no wings
Simply a puff of white air
Till you make the jump to the ground
Wishing for the end
But ending only at the beginning.
