“It's strange seeing you again after all these years.”
“You haven’t changed,” she said hiding her tears.
She smiled at the man casually – as if she were uncaring.
She shook his hand firmly – feeling the gold band he was wearing.

With her heart breaking and a sad smile on her face
She walked on beside him - matching her steps to his pace.
Should she tell him she loved before they reached the door?
Or chat of old times, mutual friends and say nothing more.

"How strange to see you after all of these years"
he told the woman calmly while hiding his fears.
He shook her hand firmly - he was feeling quite daring
knowing she'd notice the gold band he was wearing.

To match her small steps, he slowed down his stride
wondering if he should offer to give her a ride.
He was aware that she loved him but he had a new life
with two tiny children and a sweet loving wife.
