The Real Night Before Christmas (Repost)
Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the land;
All creatures were awaiting; something so grand.
The shepherds were herding their flocks with great care,
Looking to the sky for something so rare.
The stars were all placed in the sky so bright;
Lighting the way on this special night.
The sheep were nestled all snug in the shed,
With visions they would be warming a very special bed.
There in the distance a donkey was seen,
Carrying a woman, led by a man so lean.
They came into town looking for a room,
All were filled, their fate seemed very gloom.
Then all of a sudden a shepherd appeared,
He offered his stable, the couple`s eyes teared.
Come rest in this shelter, on this bed of hay,
You may share our food as long as you stay.
Up in the sky appeared a great star,
It shined so bright, it could be seen from afar.
When, what to our wonder, a baby child was born,
Wrapped in swaddling le lay there to adorn.
The sheep and cows snuggled close to the bed,
They gave him the warmth in this tiny shed.
The bright star above brought wise men and kings,
The angel on high with her fluttering wings.
We all fell to our knees to give him the praise,
To the baby child, born on this glorious of days,
Now we all exclaim, as we leave the site,
Happy Birthday Jesus, and a special good-night.
