August 13th, 1997 the day.

She was something special as everyone could see.
So I called her my angel
Because here on earth she was an angel to me.

It was a chance meeting at our towns riverside park.
A boy fell off his bike and we both ran too help.
After he rode off I just stood and glared.
As others gathered around to hear her talk and laugh,
all I could do is stare.

It didn't take long after that before we both knew.
And in the doctor's office we cried with joy to hear that she was due.
I told her I prayed it would be a girl, she said it may be two.
A house full of angels, I told her, was fine with me too.

She was something special as everyone could see.
So I called her my angel
Because here on earth she was an angel to me.

Three years later, on a stormy night, a car crashed on the interstate.
She was the first to arrive and ran, unthinking, as there was no time to wait.
The teenaged girl got out safe but her baby was still stuck in the backseat.
My angel got in and passed the baby out safe but then without warning the gas mixed with heat.

She was something special as everyone could see.
So I called her my angel
Because here on earth she was an angel to me.

Laying flowers on her grave was the saddest of all my days.
An angel shouldn't have to die like the rest of us, an angel should be safe.
I know she is back where she came from, away from all of human harm.
And that makes me smile as I look to the sky while holding our two angels in my arms.

Yes She was something special as everyone could see.
So I called her my angel
And here on earth, she left two angels with me.

Sorry for your loss, David. Your words struck me deeply. Why such things have to happen appears unreasonable to me, but if there's a heaven, your angel is surely there looking down on you. May you be forever blest.

My goodness David, I pray this is not a true story because of the sadness of the situation. A heartwrenching tale...

Be always safe,
