*' Weee' means a verbal shout of joy!
I am just 2 years old.
I am courageous and adventurous as any boy should be.
I know no boundaries as my Mother is omnipresent.
Angels watch over me and protect me in all my missions.
I love swimming lessons,
but baby slide is of little interest.
It is so short there is no time to go ‘WEEEE’.
That is not what having fun is to me.
As I reach the top of the slide,
I look in all glory.
For across the large pool of turquoise water,
Stands the slide of dreams.
The glorious steps climb right into the Heavens.
So tall, sturdy and strong the spiral water slide beckons me to come.
A bright halo encircles the angelic red and blue statue.
A colorful rainbow surrounds the ‘toy’ of my dreams!
I can resist no longer,
As my tiny legs eagerly step back off the baby slide.
I look to the left, then to the right,
Although the Angels watch over me,
To my Mom, this she won’t like.
My little baby feet hit the green concrete running.
I keep my eye on the prize as I increase my pace to reach my goal.
Only in the background do I hear my brother and mother cry.
But they do not understand that I have dreamed of such
A joyful event for two years of my life.
I am speechless to defend my desire to
‘WEEEE’ down the REAL spiral slide of my dreams.
The water is deep below but I will float when I land.
My Guardian Angel will be there to catch me.
I reach the large bottom step to my
Ascent into the Heaven’s 15 feet above.
My heart beats hard and fast with anxiousness,
At last I will have the time of my life!
I quickly climb the steps, before I can be stopped.
Step one….
Step two….
Boy, these steps are very large, but I am driven.
Step three…….
Then suddenly someone swipes me from behind.
A man’s large arm whisked me around my waist.
I cry out and kick and scream,
I was so close to my dream.
My Mother runs in tears,
I don’t know why she cries,
For I am the one who’s hopes and dreams have been shattered.
That to me is what really mattered.
But my Mommy’s bear hug and smothers
Comforts my soul.
As she walks me away, I look over her shoulder
Back at the great slide in the sky.
‘I will be back another day, to conquer you, my friend.’
I say in my secret language that only I and the slide can understand.
Then I muzzle my face in my Mom’s warm embrace,
And dream of adventures to come.
