I'm just an edge, Circled round a hole. Torn between the centre And the walls I want to build. I'll just curl up, Surrounding this point Of pain and aching muscle Hoping that life will freeze. I'm just hoping, Wishing on a bonfire So that I might cut this Loose from tender thoughts I'm just crying, For something good. Keening in grey matter To recast ideas into dreams Could I dream, and see her eyes Without the grisley tears, See them smiling forever more. Could I smile Thinking of what Might become less sanguine A future that I can condone.
