Dedicated to Abuse Victims

How could it be, we’ve no food to feed the children
How could it be, we’ve no heat to warm their feet
How could it be, you still can’t find employment
How can it be, you’ve a needle in your arm
How could it be, I thought that I once loved you
How could it be, I thought you loved me too
How could it be, I wanted things to change
How can it be, you sold our wedding rings
How could it be, the new baby won’t stop crying
How could it be, the oldest sucks his thumb
How could it be, you don’t come home for days now
How can it be, I always seem to stay
How can it be, I’m talking to this stranger
How can it be, I’m telling everything
How can it be, you said no one would believe me
How can it be, are feet are warm tonight
How can it be, strangers really care
How can it be, the children seem to glow
How can it be, they barely know our names
How can it be, they love us just the same
How can it be, I’m standing on my own
How can it be, the children are growing strong
How can it be, the Lord has stood beside me
How can it be, my heart no longer hurts
How can it be, just seeing is believing
How can it be, to be myself for once
How can it be, I no longer ask that question
For I see, how it can be

Domestic violence and drug abuse, do not a happy home make. This is so chilling Rebecca, and a strong message to women everywhere, that we don't have to take this anymore. Thank you for this message of hope.

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and all of the abused children and women of the world. May He walk beside us all, always, and lead us so we don't stumble, and know what is right. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your sister, Barbie

This should bring hope to those women who are mistreated and abused by their husbands.

Your work is a reality of the many and this view of the breaking of the chains of abuse will surely help those who can relate to your poem...nice work...

"How Could It Be"
My belief is these abusers forget for a minute that other's do exist in the world and that other's do care. Therefore, it could easily be that someone else loves the victims whether they know their names or not! God made many people and He made many more people WHO DO CARE REBECCA!

Love and hugs to you...keep on keeping on~thank you always,

Chills came over my body for I have gone through some things here. My ex-husban had sold our wedding rings because he was on crack. I didn't know or years that he was. It is so glad to read others work that has been apart of my lie and now we must pick up the pieces which is so hard at times. I admire your strength and courage. What a powerful, strong and well written true thing that is and has happenend all over the world. I admire you, Aleja Bennett
