A Mothers Love

A poem written out of love from a mother to her daughter |
|
I remember your first smile your first laugh your first tooth
The 2:am feedings, frequent diaper changes and the feel of your skin so smooth
The way your eyes sparkled when you experienced something new
Cradled in my arms I would rock you to sleep
and treasure those moments I would always keep
But life moves on and so it should
With a blink of an eye I watched you grow from my baby girl into womanhood
And though for awhile I was sad to let you go
What you have become makes me proud to be your Mother this you should know
Watching you now is as if I've turned back the clock
You're a young Mother with her own babies to care for and love
I have seen the look in your eyes as you have watched them sleep
And the undying love you show to them is unselfish and true
For that is the same way today I still look at you
So from one Mother to another this I must say
Treasure every moment don't let it slip away
For in a blink of an eye it will be gone
Soon they will be grown for as it should life goes on
