Smiling is indeed one of the most effective disarmers.
I used to work in a day centre for guys with behavioural problems. At times we had the individual who would, one way or another, challenge our authority. A non-condescending smile and a friendly word more often than not was all we needed to apply to resolve the conflict.
I forgot the guy's name, but I heard the story of a Christian man who used to convict people of their sinful ways simply by the smile on his face.
Laugh and the world laughs with you, moan and you moan alone.
There is a song called Smile sung by Jocelyn Bernadette Smith. It is on Tangerine Dream's Tyger album.
All in all, your Smile, as it were, put a smile on me as I read it.
Regards
Dai |

This is so delightful, Aleja. Smile! Yes, it is precious to smile. Softens even the most awful grouch, I find. But sometimes it pays to know when NOT to smile. I remember when I was learning to swim. I smiled up at my hubby at the wrong time and swallowed a whole lot of chlorinated water. Now, that was the wrong time to smile, I can tell you that, though of course my hubby had a good laugh as he watched me cough and splutter.
God Bless
Much love
