A Poem about a woman recanting memories and feelings of love. |

We’ve Met Before
We’ve met before; your eyes were just as piercing as they are now; searching attempting to look deep into my soul. I remember lying next to you; neither uttering a word, as our eyes seemed to converse for hours at a time.
I couldn’t mistake your gentle touch, nor could I forget the fragrance of your body, as we lay naked holding each other.
Then as now your laughter filled the room, just as I turned to hold you, only to find you not there.
I know we’ve met before…it hurt then just as it does now. I know that due to past experiences in both our lives we will never know the full extent of each other’s love
Yes… we’ve met before, your first name was different, but your last name is always love

| Memories...what would we do without them. They shape us. |

Yes, it brings back memories of a song. The last line is very nice.

This poem and the following sentence snatched my heart. I can relate. "I know that due to past experiences in both our lives we will never know the full extent of each other’s love"
I wonder why there are so many hurting people in the world? Wonder what they did to deserve such pain and parting from the one that really matters.
Beautiful write. Thank you.
