The Woman

A tear drop hits the floor.
It comes from a woman.
Her cheek is red.
A fresh new hand print.
She will take no more.
What can she do?
He will be back
She will stand up!

The man staggers through the front door.
She must do it now.
No this is wrong!
She must do it now.
Up the stairs he comes.
To lay his hand on her face.
She will respect him.
Even if it takes a beating.

The woman looks for something.
To deliver the final blow.
Here is something.
It will do well.
In the room he comes.
She falls to the floor
Her hand finds the gun.

She pulls the trigger.
Her lover staggers.
Hitting the floor.
He will do no more.
What will she do?
Will it be jail?
No, she will not go.
