Amazing how the body can fail so incrementally that the "rational" mind becomes frozen in disbelief.

Flu I imagine,
But instead
This was
Dying

Joints 10 thousand
Years old (at least)
Pain &
Blinded brain,
Vomiting Wednesday’s
Popsicles &
Sunday’s potatoes.

ER green coats
No more jokes as results
Come, bringing white coats with
Bloodhound needles,
Scenting vacant veins.

Talus’ ichor
Burns in
Endless bags, setting
Withered arms aflame,
Tubes invade meat,
Monitor winks,
Night’s crude escort.

I SEE THIS WAS WRITTEN IN 2010...SO GLAD THIS IS A THING OF THE PAST AND YOU ARE NOW FINE. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

As wonderfully and clinically as this is written, Juliet,
it is painful to read. I hope this is an artist at work,
If not, I share the wish that you will be well again soon.

Yes I felt a smack too. *ouch and double ouch* good solid stuff, Juliet.

The sheer power of this, Juliet! The images are spare, stark and smack this reader in the face.
I don't know if this is personal...if it is, you know how I feel and wish you well as speedily as healing thought.

John
