What Wow
by Michael Walker

Sunday, July 20, 2008
Not rated by the Author.

Today, a visit downtown to an amazing man, a potter,
who showed me his molded clay pieces with equal parts
of genuine humility and a well-deserved sense of self-worth.

Then, in the sweltering heat, I walk from Capitol Hill to
my neck of the woods (2.88 Google miles), savoring the
presence of Spirit clinging to the humid air; flying in the sky
and alighting on branches; pushing the fluffy, bulbous clouds
across the sky; lifting my heart like a kite.

Finally a stop at Burger King for a decent salad and diet soda,
all the while listening to the silence beneath the fast food chatter
and the silence beneath that and the silence beneath that.

All in all, a grace-filled day.

What wow.

And so it was.
