High on a Cliff-top

I haven't written much poetry, this is one from a few years back reworked a little

High on a cliff-top I survey a vast scene
Of green hills and valleys so timeless; serene
The sun setting slowly my last fading light
As the sky fills with colour and day turns to night
Calm and at peace a light breeze through my hair
My soul has been shattered now I just don't care
I remember with fondness your sparkling eyes
That showed me such kindness and never told lies
Your sweet smiling face in my loving embrace
Through the laughter and tears that we shared
So I can't reason why you decided to die
With no explanation or final goodbye
Without you I'm lost and the world is so hollow
You've shown me the way so blinded I'll follow
With a tear in my eye gazing up at the moon
I'm praying to God that I'll see you soon
Now closing my eyes taking one final breath
I feel myself fall to the warm hand of death
