Memory Box
Has it been ten years since I last wrote you?
Should I start to tell what I’ve been up to?
Sifting back through thoughts and dreams, hopes and schemes
What I’ve done, where I’ve been, repeating themes
Open up the memory box, scan back
Who am I now?
Am I yet still on track?
Did I ever once put my life on hold?
Or moving forward – take it on so bold!
Memory’s Destiny lies in the past
Founding stone of who I am; meant to last.
They serve me well; my joy, tears and laughter
Moving on to write another chapter
Should I shed a tear about where I’ve been
The loves I lost, people, places I have seen
Don’t fear that I am lost along the way
The past informs the path I’ll take today
