~ I Sing My Song into the Wind ~

I sing my song into the wind
And watch as the words float away upon the breeze
Words on their journey into the forever
Words vanishing into the shadows of time

I listen for the sound of their return
But I know it to be in vain
Once they have started their journey aloft
They will rarely if ever return again

Like true friends who have comforted me
In times of trouble and sorrow
I wait for their return once more
To help me move into the morrow

But they are gone now - never to return
They lingered on 'til the song was sung
Then vanished like shadows into the sky
Their memories still haunt me

From time to time I think I hear
The sounds of whispers on the wind
They call my name and look for me
They search for me in all my old haunts

Places unknown to others
Secret places where we became as one
And listened to the music in my heart
As we sang together the songs of love ~

I sing my song into the wind
And watch as the wind takes my soul away ~

Hauntingly beautiful. Hugs, Bob.

Casting wishes and cares to the wind is something I do, too.

Bob this is wonderful. I hear the 'song' returned to me.

Sad song.....but you can always go somewhere to sing where you can hear the echoes. There are places like that too. Your favourite tune can be echoed back to you if you sang it in the right direction.
