“The Puppeteer’s Post-Election Resolution”, was written in November during a 2004 stint with Bread & Puppet Theater and appears in Volume 1, Number 4 of “Public Spaces: A Paradise 29 Artel Seasonal Review“ published by the now defunct Paradise 29 Artel Collective.
I have since stopped working with Bread & Puppet Theater due to a recent show and acompanying art exhibit by founder and director, Peter Schumann, in which he made use of Holocaust imagery in order to deny elements of the Holocaust and to further his anti-Israeli agenda of which I had not been previously aware.

The Puppeteer’s Post-Election Resolution:
Be I incarnate in muscles and bone
wrapped in skin with dancing, trampling feet
Be I incarnate in pulleys and strings,
toggles and rods wrapped in papier-maché
This theatrical machine will kill fascists
as an avatar of Woody’s guitar
And should their laws and order force my flight
I will take my asylum in nations
from which my expatriate friends once fled
before the curtain call; on those stages
I shall remain a free American.
