A Dark Winter's Night

Lights cut a yellow trough
through the darkness,
Snow glitters
in the headlights like diamonds.
Arriving home,
I cut the truck's engine

DARKNESS
SILENCE

I start towards the house
where elecric lights glow,
spilling out the window
and onto the snow,
welcoming me home.��
