What Happens After Death
The first thing that we need to do is to define death. The bible reveals unto us that there is two types of death, physical death and spiritual death. Physical death is when we are separated from our physical body and our surroundings. Spiritual death is when, after we are separated from our physical body and our surroundings we are also separated from God for all eternity. Separation from God for all eternity is also called; The Second Death. Jesus tells us in Revelation 2:11 that the saints that overcome the trials of life shall not be hurt of the second death.
What happens after death? This will depend upon weather you are a child of God or a child of the devil. {Acts 13:10: 1 John 3:10}Hell was created for the devil and all who follows him. We are told in Revelation 21:8 The fearful, and unbelievers, the abominable, murders, whoremongers, sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake of fire which burns with fire and brimstone; which is the second death. This takes place after the judgment as recorded in Revelation 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and Him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for the wicket to hide. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were open {revealing the life of the one judged} and another book was open, which is the book of life {the sinner’s name will be absent from this book} the dead was judged out of those things written in the book, according to their life. Death and hell was cast into the lake of fire, and whosoever name was not found in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
In the gospel of Luke, we are told about a rich man who died and was buried; and in hell, he lifted up his eyes and saw a man named Lazarus. This tells us that even after physical death and in hell, we are conscious of our surroundings. Physical death is not annihilation at any point in eternity. We can see this very clearly in Revelation 19:20 where the anti-christ{the beast} and the false prophet are both cast alive in the lake of fire. Then in Revelation 20:10 we are told that after 1000 years satan is cast also into the lake of fire where the beast{anti-christ} is. After being in the lake of fire for 1000 years they are not consumed. Physical death is not annihilation. The bible tells us that by one man’s sin {Adam} death came upon all men, for all have sinned. The wages of sin is death, physical and spiritual. After the first man Adam sinned, he died spiritual, becoming separated from God, and at the age of 930 he died physical, all because of his sin.
But the gift of God is life through our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus physical death on the cross of Calvary is the payment for all humanity’s sin if we will apply it to our lives. For God so loved the world of humanity that He gave His only begotten Son that whosever shall believe in His shall not perish {in hell and the lake of fire} but shall have everlasting life. Jesus tells us in John 5:28, 29 the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear His voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good, to the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, to the resurrection of damnation. For the child of God, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Jesus promised His followers in John 14:2 In My Fathers house are many mansions: I go to prepare a place for you, and I will com again and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there you may be also. Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people. Are you prepared for heaven? Are you prepared for hell and the lake of fire? Receive the Lord Jesus and receive eternal life with God and His Children.
